Premier League Results: Origi’s late goal gives Liverpool a dramatic win

Divock Origi’s late goal in injury time managed to lead Liverpool to a 1-0 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers in the 15th week of the Premier League at Molineux Stadium, Saturday (4/12).

Wolves are not afraid to face a giant Premier League team like Liverpool. Buying and selling attacks occurred even though no goals were created in the first half.

The hosts appeared to dominate in the first 15 minutes, but the attack that was built often ran aground in the final third of the Liverpool defense area.

Liverpool had a number of golden opportunities to score goals, from the actions of Trent Alexander Arnold and Mohamed Salah, but they have not been converted into goals.

While the wolves had the best chance in the 34th minute. Raul Jimenez’s lure bait into the penalty box was almost successfully struck by Adama Traore but the ball slipped and was able to be pushed over by Alisson.

In the second half, the Reds almost broke the deadlock in the 60th minute after Wolves goalkeeper Jose Sa collided with his own partner, Roman Saiss, on the left side of the penalty box which made the ball successfully controlled by Diogo Jota.

The Portuguese striker managed to dribble into the penalty box which was left by the goalkeeper. Unfortunately, Jota’s shot was blocked by defender Conor Coady.

Mane got a golden opportunity in the 70th minute. Unfortunately, Salah’s bait in the penalty box was struck by goalkeeper Jose Sa.

The Senegal international striker again had a good chance in the 87th minute. However, his left foot shot can still be pushed over by Jose Sa.

Liverpool continued to press the Wolves defence, but Jose Sa’s brilliant performance also managed to thwart Mohamed Salah’s shot in the 90th minute.

The struggle of Jurgen Klopp’s squad finally paid off in injury time. It was Divock Origi who came out as a victory hero.

Getting a short pass from Mo Salah, Origi first turned his body before releasing a left-footed shot that Jose Sa could no longer block.

Mohamed Salah and his friends have now collected 34 points from 15 matches. They shift Chelsea and lead by one point over the Blues.

However, Liverpool has the opportunity to be overtaken by defending champions Manchester City, who just played against Watford this evening. Pep Guardiola’s men currently have 32 points.

The Merseyside club then played a big duel against AC Milan in the Champions League. After that Liverpool meet Aston Villa in the Premier League next weekend.

On the other hand, Wolverhampton face defending champions Manchester City.
